I'm not really advocating just arbitrarily throwing money at it... He have to change basic thinking, and break the oil companies' grip on the government.
As long as big oil, is big oil and not big hydrogen or big solar, we're in for a long hard road.... There's research being done in hydrogen technology and other avenues, but it's oversees and not coming to the states in large numbers anytime soon. AND... as long as people continue to tolerate higher prices at the pump, they'll continue to rise. Oil and gas reserves have been a curse to so many countries.Democracies have tended to sheperd their reserves better than other nations, although I was enormously impressed by all that Dr. Mahathir Mohamed did to invest its gas wealth into economic development for the country. Sadly, truly visionary leaders like Dr. Mohamed are rare. Someone needs to find the key to unlock the process of matter conversion into energy at the most basic form. Then we'll be free from the tyranny of burning fuels to generate electricity.
