Clearly not since he's sparked a discussion. The only "wasted" posts, in my opinion, at those that fail to gather any responses... and even then you might assume that at least some people read the post without commenting. On the other hand posts like the one you're talking about tend to spawn long, passionate debate with dozens of posts. I mean I could accept you telling me that my frequently ignored gaming posts are a waste of breath... but to say the same thing in a thread that's collected over 70 responses? Do a search in the archives for "pledge" and you'll see that those topics are rarely ignored (and seem to be started by both sides of the argument).
