I've got an Infrant ReadyNAS that I LOVE. It does RAID 0,1,5 and all sorts of other things (it runs on a Linux-based OS called RAIDiator). Media serving, print sharing, sercurity, etc - all built in and easy to administer. My only trouble is that I've filled it up (1.2 TB in RAID 5) and I can't find another one... they've got newer models but they're more expensive. The box supports USB disks to extend storage but they can't be (reasonably) made part of the RAID array. I've got a 500 Gig USB drive attached to it but since it's not redundant I don't put anything irreplaceable on it (most just movies). I think (with my bonus in March) I'll be picking up another box... I'm leaning towards the HP media center box. It runs MS Home Server and isn't much larger than the ReadyNAS. I hope prices go down in the next few months but I've seen it outfitted with four TB drives (3 TB in RAID 5) for around $1,800 configured. That'd last me a few months or so. ;^) Jim Davis ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Adobe® ColdFusion® 8 software 8 is the most important and dramatic release to date Get the Free Trial http://ad.doubleclick.net/clk;160198600;22374440;w Archive: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/CF-Community/message.cfm/messageid:249852 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/CF-Community/subscribe.cfm Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/unsubscribe.cfm?user=11502.10531.5
