The problem is, and was, that some people get motion sickness with the
headsets on.
As in throwing up. So there is a liability factor involved.

It is something that I have long felt was the holy grail of gaming.
Sadly, most of those available for the computer are low resolution
with other issues.

Because they have never been mass marketed by a major company they
just haven't gotten the traction to
push additional research to overcome the niggling issues such as
weight and screen res.

The PC already has the Natural Point TrackIR system
(www.naturalpoint.com) which I bought and it does work great for
flight sims.
There is also a 'helmet' type option
