First, take a look at the bible belt. And look what states the bible
belt encompasses. Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Mississippi, Arkansas,
Alabama, Georgia, Kentucky, South Carolina, Virginia, Kansas, and
Missouri. With some exceptions to areas in Texas and Louisiana, these
are all pretty much red states, and these red states are primarily
Protestant and Southern Baptist, which are typically conservative and
typically pro-gun. Although Iowa is not considered part of the bible
belt, they are primarily Protestant and thus encompass the same
conservative values as the red states do. This is my personal observation.
