I'm so sorry to hear about Solomon. Fortunately, Doran has not had any reactions like that yet but I guess every diabetic pet parent has to watch for it. (I keep a bottle of Karo Syrup just for him.) I hope Solomon is feeling better?

I'm still trying to recover from a very rough weekend. first of all Wendy and I went to see Ice Age on Friday - a very good film. Quite funny. then when we got home around midnight we found our cat Solomon in very bad shape lying on the floor. First we tried to get her to eat something, in case it was some sort of insulin reaction - she's diabetic. However she did ate very little and was not reacting much at this point. We rushed her to what we thought was a nearby 24 hour emergency vet clinic. Guess what while it advertised that it was a 24 hour clinic no such luck the place was closed. So we went to the next one about 15 miles away in Vienna, Virginia. Along the way the cat began to go into convulsions. At that point I figure I was breaking tons of traffic laws the way I was driving down I-66 trying to get to the clinic. Fortunately there were not state police on the way. I never knew this Saturn could go so fast. Anyhow we manage to make it there in time. They took her in right away. Apparently her glucose levels at this point was less than 20. Normal levels are between 70 and 120. So they started her on a glucose solution IV. Around 4 am they said that they wanted to keep her overnight to watch her etc. So we finally made it home around 5am. We called later (Saturday evening) and were told we could pick her up. The bill came to over $400. Ouch. So needless my weekend sucked. larry -- Larry C.
