I should add -- I don't think Skaggs should be on the list, just noting that
he plays guitar mighty well. Tony Rice deserves it more than he does --
can't remember though if I saw Rice on the list.

Oh, other country pickers I can remember seeing on the list -- Merle Travis
and Doc Watson.

I've heard Skaggs do some mighty fine bluegrass pickin'. Like Vince Gill
(whom I can't stand as a singer), Skaggs is a master of several instruments.
Marty Stuart would be another one.

They did have Clarance White ranked pretty high.

Many guitarists would think Brent Mason should be included. I forgot to
mention previously Danny Gatton, though he's much more than a
country/rockabilly picker.

But I just remembered another glaring ommission -- James Burton.

I was pleased that they included Wes Montgomery, who is my all-time
favorite guitarist.

But there was a real dearth of country musicians, and including Ricky
Skaggs? He's a mandolin player, and I can name 50 acoustic guitarists off
the top of my head that can play circles around him.

The only glaring omissions from my point of view, however, were Don Felder
and David Wilcox.
