Ramone was seminally important. The Ramones were seminally important. One of
the most important bands in the history of rock and roll.  Johnny
revolutionaized guitar playing.  His three-chord, blitzkrig attack that was
simultanously fun and rhythmic and melodic was fresh and new, but harkened
back to '60s garage bands.  He should definately be on the list, though it
would be a quibble as to where he should be placed. Knopfler should be
higher.
