Thanks for the ideas, and offers, Dana. He's actually more of an AmStaff, with a beautiful brindle coat. The scars from the skin infection he had blend right in. =]
Lovely looking dog, really. So regal. We're worried about his behavior, which is rooted in pain... if he were to bite someone after we gave him away... it would suck. And we're so tight... might be a red fern type of deal anyways. Gruss, if it were up to shelters, he'd have been destroyed long ago. Nothing to worry about legal-wise, since we didn't get him from an official rescue shelter. And I appreciate the mentality, I feel in my heart the same way... sometimes saving isn't really saving tho, if that makes sense. We've discussed it with our vet (who we found after the first 3 said to just put him down), the only person who cares for him like we do (stayed overnight with him one time, just awesome)... we didn't enter into this lightly. His hips will hurt him more the older he gets (you should see how he can lay, legs askew-- not natural but comedic at times. He likes to sit like a person... silliest thing...) and the weather affects his attitude, etc.. Right now things are pretty good. Which is a weird way to think about it, maybe, but life is weird; or something. We've already had to manage his pain with things like california poppies, and rhymadil at times (it's rougher than the homeopathic stuff tho), and he's only 4. Getting the care that he needs is a real stickler. If he wasn't him, we could find him a new home with a clear conscience. Since he is he, however, we've got more to take into consideration. An incredibly shitty situation to be in, but I wouldn't trade it for the world-- he's been an awesome fucking dog. Best damn dog I've ever had. I am sad. -- ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Adobe® ColdFusion® 8 software 8 is the most important and dramatic release to date Get the Free Trial http://ad.doubleclick.net/clk;160198600;22374440;w Archive: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/CF-Community/message.cfm/messageid:253068 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/CF-Community/subscribe.cfm Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/unsubscribe.cfm?user=89.70.5
