Here's another reason not to buy one: I received one for Christmas, only to have to return it three weeks later when the hard drive died. I call MS, they sent me a box, I sent it away and got it back in February. I plugged it in, eager to get back onto Halo, and the drive died again.
The XBOX is not a good invention, I will stick with my PS2. (plus from what i have read the ps2 dvd playback is not that high quality, although i haven't tested this first hand). > Who's to say > that MS won't try and tie you into the MSN network or similar > just to play the games. well, i can already play games online without MSN. plus, if they make it easy to find and play games online, then i don't care who does it. if they don't then i will either find games online myself, or just not play online. at least i have the option. I have absolutely NO trust in MS. > They just want your money, and they have no qualms about > locking you into something for their own gain... well, every console maker does that. this isn't something unique to microsoft. > But there are also plenty of cool games coming for PS2, and > we are still really only seeing the beginning of the next gen > games for PS2. Look at the PS as an example... 6 years after > it's launch, games were still being released that were > pushing it's abilities... if the PS2 is anything to go by, > you can't discount it straight away. of course, i could say the exact same thing for the xbox. plus, since the xbox starts at a higher hardware level, and from what i have read is easier to program for, it would seem that ultimately you could do more easier and faster with the xbox (development wise). (i.e. sure developers are going to continue to push the ps2, but at the same time developers are going to also be pushing the xbox). i'm not anti ps2. i love my ps2. i just think that the xbox has a lot more potential, and i am excited abot that. mike chambers ______________________________________________________________________ This list and all House of Fusion resources hosted by CFHosting.com.
