Freedom is an interesting concept. There's this whole school of thought that it's sorta impossible to remove freedom, sorta. It's a harsh school of philosophy tho... puts death on the table, so to speak. As a viable option. Eh. Where's that put domestic spying? :] Like, were they not "free" before? Had they not in some way been making the choice to have the society/culture that they had? We can't have folk killing folk, of course... how's that wiccan saying go? It's one of my favorites... Like, I'm down with preventing genocide, right? And subverting everyone else into the "the more options the merrier" type mindset. I'd rather avoid long drawn out wars tho. Fast, "shake 'em up, keep 'em guessing" type stuff seems pretty effective... but hey, like that escapepod podcast "the big guy" said: it's all exquisite. Or something like that.
