oh, I was giving gruss sass. I absolutely agree that we should be
concerned, but like loathe said, things don't actually look that bad.
a new group got thrust into the fight in basra and performed like you
would expect - they panicked. petraeus seems to think that situation
will resolve itself with experience. I also have read stories of us
units backing up iraqi units in sadr city, essentially giving them
tactical advice (and support) when they get stuck and don't know what
to do. translation - we are training them to take the fight to the
enemy and hold their own.
