Close! Floyd Lake. My grandparents lived in the end of Floyd Lake that
butted right up against Sand Lake, so I'd sometimes walk through the woods
over to Sand Lake. There was an old abandoned campground there between the
lakes.. very Friday the 13th like.. cabins, bathhouses, etc. It's now a
nice subdivision I guess.

Nah, we very rarely went to Tawas. Just about the only time we left the
immediate vicinity was to go golfing in Hale and sometimes to go to the ice
cream shop in Hale. Grandparents just liked to stay at the house when we
were visiting, for the most part.

To my knowledge, there were no trout in the lakes where I was, except at the
trout pond in Dexter. And of course the salmon were pretty much only in
the great lakes where I never went fishing.

My dad went on a fishing trip out in lake huron once and came back with some
yummy salmon. And when I was in boy scouts, we took a trip to Pt. Pelee
(sp?) in ontario one spring for smelt fishing. That was fun. I love smelt.
