You have to love the water and being on the water. If it's not something that interests you, on a hobby level, then you'll never understand.
For me, water soothes my soul, calms me, relaxes me. I love the sight of it. I could swim, boat, sit by, listen to water for hours on end and never get tired of it. I could quite happily be a live aboard with no problem whatsoever. I adore boats. Love boating.
