I just recently read an article about truck prices being around the
bottom of the barrel right now and that if you could, you should wait
a bit to trade in trucks.

That said, I traded mine in back in March. I went on kbb.com,
edmunds.com and a host of others that valued my truck (trade in value)
at 18k. Carmax offered me 12k. The most any dealer offered me was
14.7k. I tried to sell it as a private party for 16k and got no
takers. I ended up taking the 14.7k....luckily I only owed 8k on it
at that time.
