"That's not change," Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., said of what Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., is offering. "You know, you can put lipstick on a pig," Obama said, "but it's still a pig." Did he really say that? It is such a politically clumsy move - in his home court of speaking to crowds - that it stunned me when I read it. I wonder if his internal voice said, "Oh crap!" right after those words came out of his mouth. Very uncharacteristic for a guy with such great command of the spoken word.
