I remember that South Park episode! You want to see my left nut? Gross!

But since you asked... *zip* There! You happy now?

Seriously tho, are you not paying attention?

There are legal battles going down, man, this isn't some crack-pot
conspiracy theory.

*Your* personal information was probably turned over-- you don't have
a problem with that? Maybe you never use the phone, so you don't
care, much like Homer and Bart not caring about them looking into what
people are checking out of the library.

At some point, the people themselves have to have a problem with
what's going on, Sam. I'm saddened that you don't, as it's pretty
clear to anyone who's paying attention (and as much as I poke fun, I
think you're paying attention) that plain unconstitutional, un-legal
things have been done by this Administration. Other ones too, but
this one has been super bad-- maybe you don't plug-in to places that
are concerned with your rights, like the EFF? http://www.eff.org/

Heh, look at that-- google cut it's IP logs to 9 months! Weren't we
just talking about that? SAD that private industry cares more about
our privacy than our own government. It did not used to be that way
(tho government *always* hungers for more power, so it was just a
matter of time-- enough time for The People to forget why we even
secured the freedoms)

I'm pretty sure I've heard you espouse the idea that "if you're not
doing anything wrong, there's nothing to fear", which pretty much ends
it, for me, as far as you actually grasping WHY this stuff is
important. WHY we protect the rights of even "bad people" and
whatnot. It makes me fear for the future of the country, honestly.

You seem smart enough to grasp what's going on, yet you are like,
stuck at the "B" of A > B > C, refusing to believe A or C. All the
evidence in the world will not convince you if you don't want to know
the truth, Sam.

There are volumes of it. Did you know, that it's a *fact* (I gave
links last time we talked about this) that there aren't even *records*
of who all got our personal information? No process was followed, and
we don't really know who got copies (could have been the Chinese, or
Russians, or, heck, those Israelis, who are quite good, neh? Our
buddy India? Bah. Doesn't matter, if you need boogie men, and don't
fear a government with too much power, you're hurting so much, no
wonder you don't care about the rest of us).

I've posted links to "hard proof" for you multiple times, you always
seem to rationalize that "it's not that bad". I'm here to tell you,
it is that bad, and mostly because of people like you (heh), who don't
see a problem with our government listening in, harvesting etc., all
our personal information.

Why would there be this push for changes to the law to exempt the
phone companies from turning over the info? That doesn't bother you
in the least?

Man, I just hope to god, that you are just messing with me, and in
"real life", you're some awesome freedom fighter, holding these (self
evident) truths up, fighting the good fight, telling your friends the
crazy stuff our government is getting away with because no-one is
standing up (a lot are (Re:EFF, etc..), but relative to population,
not many).

Maybe you should get into network security. Heh.

Yeah, look around, man, there is plenty to hold these bastards accountable for.

You've got to want to know the truth tho, and ditch the rationalizing
that keeps you in your safe place. If not for yourself, for the
Country, or even better, The People.

These are important issues, my man. As much as you wouldn't know it
by the major parties goals and whatnot. *sigh* We work with what
we've got tho, bottom line.

May you never be on the wrong end, Sam. As much as I like the idea of
Karma, I wouldn't wish that on you.

Do you really want me to dig up some legit links for you again? If
you will seriously contemplate what's going on, I'll perform the 10
seconds of google work for you.
