I disagree in so much that I want public funds available to ensure that
every single child has the potential for a quality education throughout
their development. It's one of the few things I'd happily be willing to pay
for. I don't want private money or "the market" or even "competition" to
dictate the quality of the education in this country.

I see it as the single best investment for my tax dollars. I know that money
isn't always the problem, but it's certainly part of it....public teachers
and administrators are EMBARRASSINGLY underpaid.

In many ways, it's exactly like health care: get the government out

In one gigantic way, it's not like health care at all: Quality education has
the potential to cure many of our social ills at it's roots....whereas the
best health care in the world can only treat certain symptoms of that
pathology.
