I've been following this because I like Galveston. I was thinking
about moving there in 2001 or so. I decided not to because there
really isn't
much of a local economy besides tourism and the hospital; there is
also no local college. Has anyone seen the projections? The entire
island will be under water if there is a 20-foot surge -- if it's 12
it will be about 90% under water. And in this video there are people
driving along the seawall. Some of the local streets have a current
already, and the thing won't even lake landfaill till late today. Wow.
