Not only do I hear this all of the time externally, I hear it internally. 8 years ago it was a joke, now people are not joking - they're physically planning on leaving. And not just to live elsewhere, but to get new citizenship. They feel their money is no longer safe in dollars, their income is foolish to earn in dollars, and their safety is in better hands elsewhere. I will have no more counter argument if McCain is elected. Thus the irony of "tax the rich too much and they'll leave". They already are and they're taking their money with them. Not only that, but there's a whole expat community of new college grads setting up shop in Beijing, Shanghai, Hong Kong, and Tokyo. Check out this ad from last week's economist: http://admonkey.files.wordpress.com/2008/09/ad_081.jpg "The US recieved a D grade for its infrastructure." Rich people are leaving. They're living elsewhere and using the US as part of their portfolio, but the big money is in China and India. They're already gone or have one foot out the door. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Adobe® ColdFusion® 8 software 8 is the most important and dramatic release to date Get the Free Trial http://ad.doubleclick.net/clk;203748912;27390454;j Archive: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/CF-Community/message.cfm/messageid:269556 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/CF-Community/subscribe.cfm Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/unsubscribe.cfm?user=11502.10531.5
