I try not to shop at Walmart because I do feel that they are bad for local business. However, if you find you need cinderblocks or a nightgown at two in the morning they are the only game in town. I wonder why the guy who needed toothpaste didn't just pay 50 cents more and save a dollar in gas by getting it at a convenience store.... but maybe he lives right next door, who knows.
I have been pretty disappointed with the quality of goods bought at WalMart in the past. That said, I did find myself needing wierd stuff late at night recently and I am currently wearing an impulse purchase, quite a nice t-shirt I got there on sale for $4. We'll see if this one falls apart when I wash it though. In East Texas they go to WalMart for entertainment, or to stave off heatstroke. There is a place for WalMart I guess....
