It seems likely actually that she does not. Have you watched the interview with Katie Couric? Look at Palin's face when Couric asks her if the 700 billion wouldn't be better spent on tangible goods. She has no idea why Couric is even asking. I submit that it is one thing to be familiar with mainstream macroeconomic theory, but believe it does not apply to the current set of circumstances (trickle-down economics, as expounded by those who actually believe it them as opposed to just wanting to loot the treasury) and quite another to not be aware that one is being asked a question from Economics 101.
Again, she could have claimed to read the Economist and nobody would have been able to prove otherwise. There might have been some discussion of prehaps she needs coaching on her public speaking skills. Period. She did not know enough to do that. That is really really sad. And I say this as someone who was defending her quite recently.
