that is a respectable position. And at some point the child itself has
a right to be left the hell alone, sure. Where that point is can be
discussed. But do you not agree that there is *some* point where we
are talking about cells?

Because many people don't, you know. That, I have an issue with. I
also have an issue with the fact that many "pro-life" people seem in
fact to be anti-woman, I am not including your friend in that
category. I myself have huge issues with abortion.

Nonetheless, consider what happens when you start telling women that
they *must* have a baby. It was the way it was for centuries out of
necessity, and when there was no alternative, there was no
alternative. Now that there is though, I have a major problem with
saying well, so what if carryinig this six-month fetus to term will
kill the mother, because clearly a baby is more important that its
mother. This is what the ban on partial birth abortion *does.* Now. I
just think that this is not a decision the government has any business
making. The choice is  messy and sometimes ugly, but so are all the
options.
