Wow, I never got my purebred Maine Coon to fetch! He's lazy as anything 
actually, about the only exercise he gets is when the dog pesters him:

Do be careful to watch the weight as he gets older. I see so many people just 
let their Maine Coons get fat, because they like big cats, and want them to 
just be as big as possible, but it's not healthy for them, in fact because they 
tend to be heavy-boned already, it can really cause joint problems with the 
additional stress if they like to climb and jump, etc. I have to keep my cat on 
a pretty strict diet as he is a total food hound, he'll steal my dog's food, 
treats, etc. whatever he can get into. And he weighs about 21 pounds!
