No - it looks like the London Studio (the team that did that demo) is
working that into "EyePet" - a virtual Pet simulator that's due out next
year (and looks great):

I really wish they'd release the demos "as-is", but that doesn't look that's
going to happen.  Here's those demos:

In LittleBigPlanet you can take pictures with the Eye and use them as
stickers and textures when building levels, but not as templates for 3-D
objects (yet - that's something that the team has already talked about
adding in one of the many planned functionality upgrades).
