But, if you don't denounce it, you leave the question open - are you not
denouncing him because you secretly agree with what he did, because you
disagree but are being a good Christian and forgiving, or because you are
trying to be PC and not cause any ripples?

A single, clear statement on which of these is the case would help.
(wouldn't stop the crazies on the edge who have to fill their quota of words
per dollar, but would let those who are actually trying to figure all this
out have a chance of guessing right)
