<cf_threadjack action="continue">Yeah, that's one of my biggest issues with the concept of the certification. IMO, a "good" developer doesn't necessarily have all of the answers in his head. But he/she knows where to find 'em when they're needed.
For my current job, I was on a phone interview and was asked a question (generate a SQL statement to solve a particular problem) that I didn't know the answer to offhand, but had recalled seeing a very similar question asked on cf-talk just a few days earlier. Googled, found it, and IM'd the guy the answer. I fessed up that I didn't know it, and told him where I got the answer. His response was that it didn't matter.
