distant, who had one or more kids in a foreign country out of wedlock,
something the press _should_ have been investigating?

Who were the cousins of McCai's grandmother, and who might their
illegitimate children be?

What about Bush? Or yours? Why are you not on the press for letting Reagan
slide on this important, groundshaking issue?

The answer: no one cares.

On the other hand, now that it is a story because someone came forward with
the information (not investigated by the press, but news because the guy is
crowing about it publically), it is worth talking about as titillation, but
it still is not worth "investigating" as important.
