If you're making a principled decision about governance then your position is that a majority should be able "marginalize" a minority (or vice versa) through law. In other words, I should be able to pass a law to marginalize you based on some arbitrary quality of your biology, i.e., my hitchhiker's thumb example. So is your question the principles of good governance and how they apply to Gay Marriage, or is it whether you morally approve it?
