Not sure what you're referring to. My point to Robert was something that's become very disturbing to me as an American: people serving party instead of country. It used to be, at least 20 years ago, people would agree on "what", but disagree on "how". In other words, most people would agree on the hot topics, and thus negotiate from principle rather than position. Analogy time! Mac v PC. Great example of a positional disagreement. I like PCs because ... No Macs are better because ... argue for infinity on various features of each. The principled flip of that is to define what you want to *do*, define expectations on getting it done and metrics to verify those expectations, and then measure the Mac and PC against the metrics. May the best platform win. By agreeing on what we want to do and the data around it, we still allow ourselves personal preferences AND agreement on the best platform. Political debate has become completely positional and even moved beyond that into caricaturization. And the caricatures pushing it are people like Ann Coulter, Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Al Franken, and others.
