All this makes me feel like getting a little ferret. But I have heard that when they are awake you need to pay them a LOT of attention,for those few hours. :)

When I put them away in the morning (they're out for a couple of hours before I go to work), they're asleep. Now they don't even notice when I haul them out from under the bed, my desk, the bottom drawer of my dresser, or the middle of the bed, or where ever the stash spot of the moment is, to put them away.
