Wars are expensive but limited in duration and require ongoing votes by
Congress to keep funding. Socializing health care is a permanent change that
once enacted will never require another vote from Congress to keep running.

Refunding FICA to people who already pay no federal income tax is the last
step in the transformation of Social Security from a safety net for the
elderly, to a government-sponsored retirement program, to a welfare program.


I am all for putting money in people's pockets, but it needs to be done in
ways that encourage people to work.

And just so we're clear about the definition of "massive debt",Congress is
talking about spending as much on this one stimulus bill as all funding for
Iraq and Afghanistan as of December, 2007. And that's just for starters.
