No, it is the exact opposite of how we got into this crisis. We got here
because smart people in Washington and on Wall Street told everyone else to
let them handle the hard stuff, and then they proceeded to fuck it all up.

Aiming big and managing expectations are not mutually exclusive. You seem to
be confusing being a chicken-shit with managing expectations. By the way,
Obama and his team have furiously been trying to lower expectations ever
since the election, so they understand how the game is played. They just
created such HUGE expectations during the campaign that they are SOL now
unless they deliver the goods every step of the way. The bottom line - if
you are going to swing big, you better be damn sure you can knock it out of
the park, because if you strike out you walk back to the dugout looking like
a shithead.
