FWIW, I think that's a great approach.  I've got a friend who is doing
business with a major company that went chap 11 in December.

Prior to that they'd had almost the exact same story as you, but he
asked them to pay what they could.

They did pay him a small amount and then went into chap 11.  He had to
go to court to request his money, but he never stopped providing
service.

Now he's been prioritized by the CIO as one of the top people to pay,
he's getting his money (albeit month to month), and it looks like
they'll be engaging him for more stuff.

So I'd agree with Robert - treat 'em nice.
