Even if you look at your redefinition of what you say your post is, it's flawed. What you are considering "the common practice" of the Muslim faith is the middle east. You don't hear news stories about Muslims that have lived in the US or Canada or T&T for 30 years and have lived a peaceful life do you? And what about the violence in Gaza? Can Jews ever live a non-violent lifestyle? As Vivec can attest there are many Muslims adhering to the "common practice" of the Muslim religion that do not "condone, encourage, or outright support horrific and murderous violence." Since you like analogies, saying that the Muslim faith as a whole supports horrific violence is like saying all cars explode because of the Pinto in the 70's. I take offence to this because it touches me personally. My wife lived in T&T for a number of years and I made many good friends there. Many of which are Muslim, what I'd consider "the common practice" of the faith. I've never heard them state anything but disdain for extremists and for violence. I've never been attacked, stoned (with stones that is) or beheaded by them. It seems clear to me that your statements are bred from ignorance, which as I've said before helps no one and surprises me about you. I have a great deal of respect for all your previous opinions. This one though, you clearly have your head up your arse. If I had to redefine your question it would be: "Can there ever be peace in the middle east?"
