Just for a point of clarification, what was said was nothing more than what has been discussed in the past by the US and NATO commanders on the ground as well as the US commander of all allied forces in Afghanistan. In addition, the various leaders of those countries involved in ground combat have also suggested talks. Even Karzai has stated that the solution is not a purely military problem, but there has to be political reconciliation with the moderate elements of the Taliban. So in general its not something Obama has suddenly come up with on his own, but as he has said multiple times, he would be following the advise of the commanders on the ground. So you think he should ignore the recommendations his own generals as well as that of those other nations involved? It seems you're just looking for one more excuse to damn the president. If it were not this one you'd find another most likely. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Adobe® ColdFusion® 8 software 8 is the most important and dramatic release to date Get the Free Trial http://ad.doubleclick.net/clk;207172674;29440083;f Archive: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/cf-community/message.cfm/messageid:291088 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/cf-community/subscribe.cfm Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/unsubscribe.cfm?user=11502.10531.5
