I know a few people who have lived in and around Sacramento. I can't speak
exactly to that town, but like Charlie says, you are a couple of hours from
the mountain resorts and a a couple of hours from the Bay Area. Not bad,
really.

My main issue with inland California is that it gets stupid hot in the
summer. If you don't mind the heat, it's fine.
