OK, well here is the thing.
The war...oops, I mean contingency in Iraq is all but over. Obama
declared that by next August, we will have between 35 - 50K boots on the
ground, most of which are reconstruction, civil affairs and training
types, as well as some combat troops. And the following year, all of us
are to be out of here per the agreement between us and the Iraqi
government. Which is fine with me since this place stopped being fun a
long time ago.
But, he is beefing up Afghanistan, hence my reference to me being there
next year, which is fine because that place is still fun. So why bother
with the name change? We are at war in Afghanistan, even if congress
never formally declared war. AND, we have allies there helping, as well
as NATO. So there is no need to repackage this whole thing. We have
world support for that operation.

If anything, lets use the the mistakes that were made as lessons learned
and the next time we want to go to war with another country, we go about
it the right way, get the world behind us, and declare war. Then no need
to re brand anything. I mean, Blackwater International re branded their
company to Xi or something like that, but they are still going to be
known as the unprofessional gun toting guys who shot women and children
in Baghdad. It still does not get them their contract back in Iraq.
Changing the name of this does not change the fact that we are still
hunting down terrorists around the world.
