You know something? Who cares? Things are different in a lot of
peoples' minds. Whether they actually are or not has yet to be seen,
but the mood is in the air. This country has been in a cynical funk
ever since 9/11. Hell, this list has been that way. Before then, it
was a lot of off topic and fun chatter about anything and everything
then, boom, 9/11 and the place made a major shift to discussing almost
nothing but world affairs and politics. Thanks to the mood of the
country, it hasn't shifted back in almost 8 years. Seriously. The list
could probably be safely renamed CF-Politics. It's why I never
participate anymore. I am just sick of hearing about it and all of the
bickering that is going along with it.

So Gruss is enthralled with the first lady. Again, who cares? At least
it is an uplifting sentiment. Let people have their moment of hope that
things *might* actually get better. There is no reason to shit all over
a nice post like Bruce did by countering with some bullshit,
mud-slinging thread-jack that had absolutely nothing to do with the
original post. I mean, what was that? Come on man. Are we really that
petty now that we will take any opening to take a shot at the man or the
people who support him, no matter how small or how unrelated? Some
people are happy to wallow in gloom and doom, but some are tired of it.
Let those tired of it enjoy what they see as something to be excited
about before we find out if either there really is change in the winds,
or that things will continue to suck like they have for the longest
while now.

There are plenty of other things to argue about other than someone's
definition of "getto", or why someone is encouraged to see the First
Lady rubbing elbows with the Queen. I offer you an entire mailing list
full of them.
