Actually you haven't been around that long, at least not to read my old
anti-government treatises, and my libertarian rants. I rarely get involved
in these discussions anymore because they get to me and I say awful things
that I don't really mean and normal people don't know how to take that.

I personally am an isolationist and a nationalist. I don't think we should
have started the war in Iraq, although at the time like most I did agree
with it. I do however subscribe to the "we broke it we bought" it
mentality. I also think it would be a travesty to emotionally abandon
another generation of soldiers like we did with Vietnam. Any withdrawal has
to be on our own terms. With Afghanistan, no, they attacked us, Al Queda
and the Taliban were so interlinked that they may have well have been the
same organization at higher levels. Now that they have moved mainly into
Pakistan we need to follow them and deny them the areas they use to refit
rest and rearm.

Iran has been actively killing Americans and our allies the world over since
the 1970s, we could, and maybe should, have declared war on them several
times. I think the mullahs, the real leaders of that country, would use
nukes to stave off losing their power, possibly even to destroy Israel.

With N. Korea we are still at war with them, shots are still fired on the
DMZ, people are kidnapped, and it's crazy. I think the great leader would
love to give us a nuclear black eye on his death bed.

If it were up to me I'd rather see us come together as a nation, lose our
interventionist legacy, and turn our efforts inward, bringing this nation
back to it's classical liberal roots, where individual freedom meant
everything, rather than trying to export Jeffersonian democracy to people
that don't want it while slashing the rights I for one hold dear.

That's what it alwaysls down to isn't it? US can do what it wants regardless
of what the rest of world says. You'll convince yourself that no matter how
many bad things you do it's for altruistic reasons and for the greater
good. Anyone that doesn't like what the US does is just jealous. And anyone
that doesn't like the US or that tries to do the same is evil and must be
stopped. Starts with "H" and ends with "ypocrisy."
