I really don't know about the rest of the country, but the Federal
Government hasn't really been a big issue here. It's not like we feel
like we are being repressed by the Feds, except in a couple of
instances (like Portland dropping out of the Joint Terrorism Task
force because of concerns about the FBI's involvement in local law
enforcement). Honestly it is more of an issue that we don't seem to
have all that much in common with the rest of the country. It isn't
that we hate you all, we just really don't care.

We think that people in Southern California are insane. We have little
in common with folks in the Midwest or South and the East Coast folks
need to chill the fuck out and get off their high horses. That's it
really. Not a big oppression thing, it just seems more manageable if
we have our own little place where we have things in common with each
other. Nor. Cal, Oregon, Washington, B.C. Maybe Montana and/or Idaho.
People that understand trees and mountains and oceans. The need for
space. Good beer, coffee, wine and pot. It's more a cultural
affiliation rather than a rebellion, honestly.

I got no problems with the Federal Gov, in general. Sometimes I just
wonder if we'd better off with smaller, regional entities instead of a
big country. There is some power in our diversity. And there is a
history I appreciate. A smaller scale is just easier to grasp and hold
in your head.

I do heartily approve of a reorganization to fix the number of people
a single House of Rep. seat covers though. I've been harping on that
one for years.
