It's a shame you have to choose one or the other. When I want to really roll up my sleeves and get to work in my office I use my desktop. 22" + 19" and a screaming video card. When I'm just doing some light work or checking email or googling I use the laptop down in the living room. For me there really isn't a fair comparrison between the two. The laptop is convenient but ultimately if I'm digging in I want my kick ass box.
