I would do a laptop all the way. I have a MacBook with a 20 inch
monitor and a Griffin Elevator stand.

The only reason I would go back to a desktop is for a MacPro since I
do a lot of video stuff now and it really taxes the MacBook when you
are rendering in After Effects and FCP.
