Whether you supported the war or not, come 2006 Osama Bin Laden called it the third World War. We were fighting terrorist from all over the world that went to Iraq to beat America.
The Dems wanted to pull out and walk away leaving OBL and al Qaeda with a victory. There is no denying that walking away in 2006 would have given al Qaeda a victory and the US a loss. That doesn't mean we would die or America would cease to exist, just meant we would have lost a major battle against terrorism.
