Probably not anything more.  But that's the point.  It makes no sense
that somehow Clinton let things wane and thank-the-lord for Bush who
gave us strength again.

Grant makes the right point: Al Quaeda - who we trained and funded
(especially Reagan and Bush) - make the decision in the 90s that in
order to overthrow the local governments they first needed to get rid
of the US.  So they went on a propaganda campaign to convince the
neighborhood that the dictators were due to US influence.

Essentially that transformed Islam from a religious identity to a political one.

There's no party monopoly on security.
