To be blunt I'm saying if you think $200B is even remotely impactful then you have no clue what kind of numbers are out there. There are single plans looking to save $1B just next year. There are single plans who can increase their revenue from the gov't by $4B simply by more accurately logging the disease burden of their patients. A single plan. $4B in a single year. I was simply trying to take a portion of total spend - Medicare - and show you that $200B is laughable savings for one month much less one year much less 10 years. And that's purely with what exists today and wouldn't include at all any new benefits. Obama has no intention of using "the public option" to control costs. It's all a public relations mechaism since the only way to control costs is to control doctors and the Docs ain't going for any control. Remember the AMA from 6 months ago? So what are his options? Attack the docs given the system the way it is OR get control of the system: get everyone on the boat and standardize the "supply side", then attack the docs. He's taking the latter route. It's no big secret. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Want to reach the ColdFusion community with something they want?
