In August of 2008, I increased my retirement contribution from 10% to "maximum" .. which meant I contributed a total of $15,500 last year to my retirement and a vast amount of it was in the second half of the year. In January I cut it back to 5% and then put it back to Maximum in April (sadly, not march) Also in January, we increased my wife's contribution from 5% to max. And using Smart401k.com to help us figure out where to put our money. So we're investing in our retirement about as heavily as we can. And since we're only in our thirties, it's pretty aggressively invested, too.
