When we crunched the numbers and figured in the very esoteric "how much is it worth us to be the ones raising our child" it was a no brainer for us. It's not that my hubby couldn't have made more than day care costs. But, he couldn't have made ENOUGH more for us to feel it was worth it to have someone else raise our kid. We did do preschool part time from about 2.5 on - but that was about our kiddo have the experiences he needed.
