I've been pretty open about my political stance. I hate government in all its forms. I especially hate it when propaganda is used to discredit someone solely to advance the agenda of the war on drugs, or the oil company profiteering. Is Chavez a thug? Certainly. But so was Bush, and every other politician in power. It's the nature of the beast. You have to be a thug to get elected. No president or dictator gets into office by being sweetness and light. Power and greed is rarely obtained by saints, and the sticky sweet worship of Bush, Obama, etc, and the creation of false boogie men to justify wars and coups makes me physically ill.
My main reason for posting is usually to get people to consider the source before they buy into the spin. It rarely works, but for some reason, I keep trying. I clearly remember the first time I heard a newscaster refer to Chavez in a less than flattering way. I turned to my companion and said "I guess now that Saddam is dead, they needed a new bad guy".
