Unfortunately, on the track they're on, there is no way for the military to drop it.
It _will_ go to the end of the CM now. It has to. I hope that we take this as an opportunity to review our process, and make adjustments, to keep people like this in the field where they belong. As for the false report, do you have any idea how many false reports happen every day? Or how often reports are "fudged". And how accepted it is military-wide? And I am not just talking about Iraq, but also about traffic tickets on-base, accidental weapons discharges, etc. The military is _very_ good at self-policing. But they also realize that not all incidents need to be put down on paper. And I am just fine with that. The intelligence, drive, good judgement, and amazing physical and mental endurance it takes to become a SEAL shows me that these men are a step above the rest of us, in every way that I care to count. As a group, I would take their word over politicians, priests and plumbers, and just about anyone else I can think of.
